"Fatal Shootout Claims Lives of Police Officer, Deputy, and Suspect in Central New York"

A police officer and a sheriff's deputy were shot and killed in a shootout with a suspect in Liverpool, Central New York. The officers attempted to stop a suspicious vehicle and later found it at a residence, where gunfire was exchanged. All three were pronounced dead at the hospital, and the incident is under investigation. Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh described it as "our worst nightmare come true."
