Fatal Shooting in Frostproof: Deputy Involved

A suspect high on methamphetamine was shot and killed by a Polk County deputy in Frostproof, Florida, after opening fire on a SWAT team member during a standoff. The suspect had been holding a woman hostage in a car and refused to surrender peacefully. After negotiations failed, the SWAT team convinced the suspect to release the woman, who confirmed there was no baby in the car. When the suspect attempted to flee, he was shot by law enforcement.
