Fatal Officer-Involved Shooting in Domestic Violence Incident

A domestic violence call in Charlotte's South End neighborhood resulted in an officer-involved shooting, leaving one person dead. Upon arriving at the scene, officers heard gunfire inside the apartment and encountered a man who attacked them with a knife, injuring one officer. In response to the perceived threat, the other officer fired a single round, fatally shooting the man. Both the injured officer and a woman who was injured prior to the officers' arrival were taken to the hospital for treatment.
