Fatal Multi-State Police Chase Ends in Deadly Shooting in Maine

Kenneth Ellis, 52, was shot and killed by police in Fryeburg, Maine after leading officers on a chase that began in Conway, New Hampshire. The chase started at a Cumberland Farms after police received a report of Ellis driving erratically. Ellis struck several vehicles before crashing into a snowbank, then exited his pickup armed with a knife and was shot by a Fryeburg officer. The officer involved in the shooting has been placed on administrative leave, and the Maine attorney general’s office is leading the investigation.
