Family alleges murder in death of Black man found dismembered in Mississippi

A trail camera image of Rasheem Carter, a young Black man whose remains were found a month after he disappeared, shows him shirtless and carrying a large branch on the day he was reported missing. His mother believes the image shows he was "running for his life." The family has alleged that his death was a modern-day "lynching," and said he was being chased by white men in trucks on October 1, 2022. The investigation is ongoing, and the sheriff says there is no evidence yet that he was murdered.
