Ex-police officer charged with multiple counts of student rape.

Former Hopkinton Deputy Chief of Police, John “Jay” Porter, has been indicted on three charges of rape of a child for allegedly assaulting a 15-year-old student while he was assigned as a school resource officer in the Hopkinton school system in 2004 and 2005. The assaults took place off school property. Porter has been on leave since August 2022 and is no longer employed by the Hopkinton Police Department. An arraignment has not been scheduled.
