Ex-Olympic snowboarder nabbed in Mexico tied to alleged billion-dollar drug empire

Former Canadian Olympic snowboarder Ryan Wedding, long sought by the FBI, was arrested in Mexico City and extradited to the United States on charges that he ran a transnational drug-trafficking organization, used Los Angeles as a major distribution hub, and ordered the killings of witnesses. U.S. authorities say the operation moved tens of tons of cocaine and other drugs, generated more than $1 billion in illicit proceeds, and led to numerous arrests and asset seizures across the U.S., Canada, and Colombia.
