Escaped Roseville Shooting Suspect Evades Capture, Authorities Provide Updates

The suspected gunman involved in a deadly shootout during a Roseville hostage situation, identified as Eric James Abril, has escaped from custody at the Sutter Roseville Medical Center, according to the Placer County Sheriff's Office. Abril, who was not wearing a shirt and was not shackled at the waist, is believed to be wearing orange jail pants. He is described as six feet tall with brown hair and weighing 175 pounds. The shootout occurred during a search warrant operation, resulting in the death of one hostage, James MacEgan. Abril was injured during the incident and has been charged with multiple felonies.
