Driver Arrested After Causing Multiple Vehicle Crash in Colorado Springs

A man has been taken into custody after causing a major multiple vehicle crash in southeast Colorado Springs. The driver of a pickup truck fled the scene on foot, leaving behind a passenger with life-threatening injuries. The pickup truck had been involved in minor crashes prior to colliding with a garbage truck at an intersection. The Colorado Springs Police Department Major Crash Team is investigating the incident, and impairment is suspected. The intersection was closed for several hours. The driver is facing charges including Vehicular Assault and is scheduled to appear in court.
