DPS Trooper Injured in Active Shooting Incident in North Phoenix

A DPS trooper was injured during a shooting near Loop 101 and 19th Avenue in Phoenix. The trooper is in stable condition, and the incident is under investigation. Witnesses reported shots being fired, and a law enforcement officer was seen chasing a man down the sidewalk before the two ended up in the gravel. The man being chased got into a white car and drove away. The onramp to I-17 north from Loop 101 west is closed, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is assisting in the investigation.
