"Downtown Fullerton Driver Found Guilty of Three Charges for Plowing into Crowd"

Christopher Solis was found guilty of hit-and-run causing injuries, hit-and-run causing property damage, and drug possession after plowing his pickup into a crowd in downtown Fullerton, injuring nine people. However, a mistrial was declared on the DUI charge as the jury was deadlocked. The crash occurred as bars were emptying out, and Solis had marijuana and a "street version" of Xanax in his system at the time. The defense claimed Solis was not under the influence and was trying to escape from people chasing him, while the prosecution argued that the collision was the result of impaired driving. Solis is scheduled for sentencing on May 3, and the decision on whether to pursue a new trial for the DUI charge will be determined by March 22.
