Deputies wound armed suspect in Diamond Bar shooting

A man allegedly armed with an assault rifle and who is believed to have stabbed his mother was shot and wounded by sheriff's deputies in Diamond Bar, California. The suspect was shot by deputies as they arrived at the scene, and an apparent assault rifle was recovered from the location of the shooting. The suspect and the woman believed to be his mother were taken to local hospitals, and their condition is unknown. No deputies were injured.
