"Decades-Long Mystery Solved: Florida Woman's Killer Identified Using 3 Different Names"

After nearly four decades, the Jacksonville Sheriff's cold case unit identified the suspect in the murder of Annie Mae Ernest, who was found dead in 1985, by connecting him to three different aliases. The suspect, Robert Richard Van Pelt, also used the names "Robert Vance" and "John Leroy Harris." Van Pelt was linked to another shooting in Tampa in 1988 and died by suicide shortly afterward. The case has been exceptionally cleared, and if Van Pelt were alive today, he would be charged with Ernest's murder.
