Dallas Murder Suspect Commits Suicide During Police Chase, Leaving Four Dead

A murder suspect from Dallas, identified as Byron Carrillo, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Austin after attempting to flee from a Department of Public Safety trooper and crashing the car he was driving. Carrillo was suspected of a homicide in Dallas, where three adults died and two children were injured. He had cut off his ankle monitor before or immediately after the shooting and was found later in Austin. The in-custody death is being investigated by the Texas Rangers, while the Dallas homicide investigation is ongoing.
