Convicted sex offender escapes Texas prison, sparking manhunt

A manhunt is underway in Texas for Robert Yancy, Jr., a convicted sex offender who escaped from prison where he was serving a life sentence without parole for the continuous sexual abuse of a child. Yancy escaped in a white Nissan Versa and is believed to no longer be in Brazoria. The vehicle was spotted in Victoria County, where a female driver was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant related to Yancy's escape. Authorities are urging the public not to approach Yancy and to contact law enforcement with any information about his whereabouts.
