Cheerleader Shot Outside H-E-B Shares Harrowing Experience and Recovery Journey.

Woodlands Elite cheerleader Payton Washington spoke publicly for the first time after being shot three times in an H-E-B parking lot in Elgin, north of Austin. Pedro Tello Rodriguez, 25, was arrested in relation to the shooting and charged with deadly conduct, a third-degree felony. Washington was shot twice in her right buttocks and once in her back. Her spleen had to be removed and her stomach and diaphragm had two holes in them. Despite the ordeal, Washington graduated with her friends and plans to continue cheer and tumbling and attend Baylor University in the fall.
