BSO Deputy Arrested for Soliciting Minor, Sparks Internal Investigation

A Broward Sheriff's Office deputy, Jemiah Thomas, has been arrested and charged with soliciting a minor. Thomas allegedly met a 17-year-old girl during a call for service and began communicating with her, making inappropriate comments and sending explicit photos. An investigation by the Broward Sheriff's Office's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force led to Thomas's arrest after he arranged to meet the girl at a hotel. Sheriff Gregory Tony expressed deep concern over the allegations and emphasized the importance of holding law enforcement officers accountable. Thomas has been placed on administrative leave without pay.
