Bomb Scare at Santa Monica Pier's Ferris Wheel Forces Evacuation

The Santa Monica Pier in California was evacuated after a man climbed to the center of the Ferris wheel, claiming to have a bomb. The police closed off the area and a crisis negotiation team was brought in to communicate with the suspect. Fire crews worked to evacuate people from the Ferris wheel baskets, and after nearly two hours, the man climbed down and was taken into custody.
