Federal narcotics prosecutor Joseph Ruddy, known for his involvement in Operation Panama Express, was caught on body cam footage offering his business card to police in an attempt to avoid being charged in a hit-and-run incident while intoxicated. Ruddy, whose blood-alcohol level was twice the legal limit, was observed hunched over his truck and waving his card at officers. He admitted to fleeing the scene and claimed he didn't realize the seriousness of the situation. Ruddy has been charged with DUI with property damage and has been removed from his supervisory role at the US Attorney's Office in Tampa.
