Beloved New York swans rescued after mother's tragic death.

Three teenagers were arrested in connection with the theft of a swan and her four cygnets from a pond in Manlius, New York. The mother swan was later found to have been eaten. Mute swans like Faye and her mate, Manny, are not native to North America and are considered invasive by wildlife officials. The young swans will be cared for and returned to the pond in a few weeks when they are old enough to survive on their own, but Faye won’t return to the pond. Two of the suspects, aged 16 and 17, were released to their parents because they are juveniles, police said.
