Austin resident shoots and kills home invader in self-defense, no charges filed.

A man who was trying to break into a home in Northeast Austin was shot and killed by a resident in self-defense. The incident occurred after the man broke in through a window and shots were fired. No charges will be filed against the resident, as the shooting was deemed justified under Texas law. Police say there is no indication that the victims and suspect knew each other.
