Arrests Made: 3 Colombian Migrants Scam Elderly Woman out of $20K in Illinois

Three migrants, Miguel Pena-Gomez, Liliana Nagles-Cuesta, and Angela Posada-Acosta, were arrested in Crystal Lake for scamming an elderly woman out of over $20,000 in DuPage County. Pena-Gomez approached the victim claiming to have a winning lottery ticket and needing money to collect the winnings. Nagles-Cuesta pretended to contact lottery authorities and convinced the victim to withdraw $20,143 from her bank. Pena-Gomez and Nagles-Cuesta fled with the money, while Posada-Acosta acted as a lookout. The suspects were released pending trial and are scheduled to appear in court again on December 11.
