"Arrested Protester Weeps at Arraignment for Threats Against City Council"

Riddhi Patel, a pro-Palestinian protester, was charged with 18 felony counts and ordered held on $1 million bail after making threats against Bakersfield City Council members during a meeting. She wept during her arraignment and was ordered to stay 500 yards away from city hall, as well as the homes and businesses of the officials she threatened. Patel's remarks, captured on video, included a threat to "murder" the council members. Other protesters have also been arrested at past meetings, with two facing felony counts for their actions.
