Armed Man Apprehended Near Capitol Hill Senate Office Building

A man was arrested across from Union Station on Capitol Hill after being spotted walking around with a "long gun" in a park. U.S. Capitol Police commanded him to drop the weapon and tazed him when he didn't comply. The suspect was carrying a suspicious backpack, leading to the park being cleared for investigation. Police have no reason to believe there is an ongoing threat and are currently gathering more information.
