Social media personality Andrew Tate, known for his misogynistic views, appeared in a Romanian court to face charges of rape, human trafficking, and forming a criminal gang to exploit women. Tate and his brother, Tristan, deny the charges. Two Romanian women were also charged in the case. Prosecutors allege that the group formed in 2021 to commit human trafficking in Romania, the United States, and Britain, and that seven female victims were misled and sexually exploited. Tate has previously been banned from TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook for hate speech and misogynistic comments.
