"Alex Murdaugh's Phone Privileges Revoked Following Documentary Request, Records Reveal"

Alex Murdaugh, a convicted murderer serving a life sentence for killing his wife and son, lost his phone and canteen privileges in prison after breaking rules regarding phone calls, including reading his journal entries for a documentary. The South Carolina Department of Corrections stated that inmates lose the privilege of speaking to the news media upon entering the prison system. Murdaugh also violated prison rules by using another inmate's PIN for a phone call. The violations are administrative and not criminal offenses, resulting in the revocation of his tablet privileges as well.
