Afghan Interpreter Turned Lyft Driver Fatally Shot in DC

Nasrat Ahmad Yar, an Afghan interpreter who had worked with the US military in Afghanistan, was shot and killed in Washington DC while working as a ride-share driver. Ahmad Yar had recently fled Afghanistan with his wife and four children after the Taliban takeover. Known for his generosity and desire to help others, Ahmad Yar had been waiting for an opportunity to bring his family to the US. No suspects have been arrested, and a $25,000 reward has been offered for information leading to an arrest.
