Accused killer of mother at sea dies in jail awaiting trial

Nathan Carman, who was awaiting trial for allegedly killing his mother at sea to inherit $7 million, was found dead in his jail cell in Keene, New Hampshire. The cause of death is still under investigation. Carman pleaded not guilty to fraud and first-degree murder charges last year and was scheduled to go on trial in October. Prosecutors alleged that Carman had planned to kill his mother on a fishing trip by making it appear as if their boat had sunk.
