An 85-year-old woman in Idaho fatally shot an intruder who broke into her home, in what the county prosecutor described as a "heroic" act of self-defense. The woman, Christine Jenneiahn, was awakened by the intruder, who had handcuffed her and threatened her with a gun. After the intruder discovered her disabled son in the home and made threats, Jenneiahn managed to retrieve her .357 Magnum revolver and shot the intruder, who then fired back, injuring her.
