"3 Former Mississippi Police Officers Indicted for Homicide in Custody Death"

Three former Jackson Police Department officers have been indicted on homicide charges in the death of Keith Murriel, a Mississippi man who died in police custody on Dec. 31, 2022. The officers were charged with second-degree murder and manslaughter. Body camera footage shows officers tasing Murriel several times as they try to handcuff him. Murriel can be heard repeatedly urging the officers to stop. The family of Murriel has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the officers involved in the case.
