Heather Mack, an American woman, has been sentenced to 26 years in prison for her involvement in the killing of her mother during a luxury vacation in Bali. Prosecutors had recommended a 28-year sentence for Mack, who pleaded guilty to conspiring with her boyfriend to kill her mother in 2014. Mack's attorney expects her to serve roughly 20 years with good behavior credits. The killing, which was planned for months, was carried out to gain access to a $1.5 million trust fund.
