13-hour Worcester standoff ends with suspect's arrest after shooting and K9 confrontation

A 24-year-old man, identified as Caleb Boateng, barricaded himself in his house in Worcester, Massachusetts, leading to a 13-hour standoff with the police. Boateng shot and injured two family members and fired at officers with an unlicensed handgun. After multiple attempts to communicate with Boateng, he was eventually struck in the shoulder by gunfire and taken into custody with the help of a K9 unit. Boateng was hospitalized and is expected to survive. The injured family members were also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Charges are expected to be filed against Boateng, including assault with a dangerous weapon and attempted murder.
