Uber Driver Murdered in Ohio After Scam Gone Wrong

Uber is assisting in the investigation of an account that sent a driver to the Ohio home where an 81-year-old man allegedly shot and killed the driver, believing she was part of a scam. The driver, Loletha Hall, was not involved in any scam and was simply responding to an Uber trip request. The accused, William J. Brock, has been indicted on charges of murder, felonious assault, and kidnapping. The FBI has issued alerts about government impersonation scams targeting older people, and police are investigating the original scam call to Brock and the package delivery order through the Uber app.
