Drag Queen Story Time Cancelled Due to Bomb Threats

A suspicious package containing coloring books led to the cancellation of a Drag Queen Story Hour event at the Lancaster Public Library, prompting bomb threats and an evacuation. Police determined that the package was innocuous, but continue to investigate the source of the threats, which specifically targeted the drag event. The package, which raised suspicion due to labeling inconsistencies, was confirmed to be from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and intended for the library. Police Chief Richard Mendez stated that K-9s can alert to innocuous items due to various reasons, such as coming into contact with specific chemical compounds during shipping.
