"Newark Imam Critically Injured in New Jersey Mosque Shooting"

Imam Hassan Sharif was fatally shot outside Masjid Muhammad in Newark, New Jersey, early Wednesday morning. Despite being rushed to the hospital in critical condition, he succumbed to his injuries. Sharif was a prominent figure in the community and also worked as a transportation security officer at Newark Liberty International Airport. Investigators are reviewing security footage and have not yet established a motive, but there is currently no indication that the crime was motivated by bias. The investigation is ongoing, conducted by Newark police and the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.
