"Las Vegas Judge Attacker Sentenced to Up to 4 Years in Prison"

Deobra Redden, who attacked a Las Vegas judge during a sentencing hearing, has been sentenced to 19 to 48 months in prison for a previous battery charge, with additional charges related to the assault on the judge to be handled separately. The attack, caught on video, left the judge, a court marshal, and the judge’s law clerk injured. The judge emphasized that the attack did not affect her sentencing decision and also required Redden to pay administrative fees. The court has since increased security measures, and Redden had previously served time in prison for attempted theft and domestic battery.
