Minnesota businesses gear up for legal cannabis market as Gov. Walz signs bill.

As cannabis legalization approaches in Minnesota, local businesses are preparing for home growers. Minnesotans will be allowed to grow up to eight cannabis plants at home starting August 1. However, the sale of cannabis seeds is still illegal under federal law, leaving businesses in a gray area. The state officials are working on creating regulations for cannabis seed sales, including labeling requirements and THC level testing. The new Office of Cannabis Management is expected to be operational in early 2025.
