Tragedy Strikes Evergreen State College: Student Death and Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

Evergreen State College held a vigil following the death of a student and the injury of three others due to suspected carbon monoxide poisoning in campus housing. A contractor had responded to carbon monoxide alarms earlier in the day, and campus police were called when a student-residence manager couldn't reach some students. An officer broke down the door and performed CPR on the affected students. Two students and the officer were hospitalized. The cause of the incident is under investigation by the Washington State Patrol, and the college is providing support to the affected students and their families.
