Disney's Reedy Creek Board Strips DeSantis's Power

Disney has been granted sweeping powers in a special tax district in Florida, including control over zoning, density, building heights, and development rights, as well as the corporation’s existing power to sign off on exterior changes to other properties. The previous Disney-aligned board of supervisors had granted the company these powers, which are in effect until 21 years after the death of the last survivor of the descendants of King Charles III, King of England. The new board, installed by Governor Ron DeSantis, plans to challenge this move by Disney.
