Controversy Surrounds Michigan's Gotion Battery Plant Funding Approval.

Hundreds of people gathered at a horse farm in Michigan to protest against a proposed $2.3bn electric vehicle battery parts plant by Gotion Inc. due to concerns about the company's ties to China and the environmental impact of the 500-acre battery park. Michigan has awarded the investment a $715m incentive package, including a 30-year tax break valued at $540m and grants totaling $175m. Gotion submitted the project to the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States for a review, but the company may proceed as the project "was not subject to further review".
