"Escaped Circus Elephant Causes Chaos in Montana Streets"

An elderly elephant named Viola escaped from the Jordan World Circus in Butte, Montana, after being spooked by a vehicle while getting a bath. The elephant roamed the streets briefly before being recaptured by circus staff without incident. This is not the first time Viola has escaped, having done so in 2010 and 2014. The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals identified the elephant and described her as "elderly." No damage or injuries were reported, and the circus continued as scheduled.
