First responders in Licking County, Ohio, described the scene of a deadly bus crash on I-70 as something they had never experienced before. Witnesses called 911 to report the crash, with one caller stating that the back of the bus was on fire and children were still inside. The West Licking Fire District and EMS crews quickly arrived on the scene, working to extinguish the flames and triage the injured. Despite the challenging circumstances, the responders praised the heroism, strength, and teamwork displayed by the students and chaperones from Tusky Valley schools. Over 60 emergency apparatuses and around 100 personnel from multiple agencies were involved in the response.
