Multiple wrecks and vehicle fire on I-55 leave casualties and road closure

At least two people have died and 30 others have been injured in a series of 25 crashes on Interstate 55 in Louisiana, caused by hazardous road conditions due to fog and smoke from marsh fires. The crashes occurred in three different spots along the highway, involving three 18-wheelers, two of which were fully engulfed in flames. Over 100 people were stranded on the interstate, and authorities expect more fatalities to be confirmed as the rescue effort continues.
