Tragic Wrong-Way Crash Claims Two Lives on I-84 in Manchester

Two women were killed in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 84 East in Manchester when a driver, identified as Brenda Mendrell, collided head-on with a FedEx tractor-trailer truck and then hit another truck in the center lane. The driver and her passenger, Jermyra Cortes, were pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the struck truck sustained minor injuries. The crash caused a significant fuel spill, leading to the closure of the eastbound side of the highway between exits 61 and 62 for hours.
