Tragic Sailboat Accident Claims Life of Maine Doctor in Rockland

A Maine doctor, identified as Dr. Emily Mecklenburg, was killed and three others were injured when a sailboat's main mast snapped and fell onto the ship in Rockland. The incident occurred while the 118-foot ship, Grace Bailey, was returning from a four-day cruise. The injured individuals suffered head and back injuries and were taken to nearby medical facilities for treatment. The Coast Guard is launching an investigation into the cause of the mast failure.
