Tragic Accident Claims Brooklyn Woman's Life on Belt Parkway

A 40-year-old woman, identified as Megan Oravsky, was struck and killed while attempting to cross the Belt Parkway in Brooklyn. The incident occurred near Exit 9A in Sheepshead Bay. Oravsky was hit by a black Volkswagen sedan and was found unresponsive with severe body trauma. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, and no criminality is suspected. Oravsky's reasons for crossing the busy roadway at night are unclear, but she may have been homeless and carrying a large bag of bottles. Attempts to contact her family have been unsuccessful.
