Fatal Tanker Truck Crash Shuts Down State Route 8 in Macedonia

A diesel truck driver died after the vehicle drove off the side of a bridge and exploded on state Route 8 in Macedonia. The incident occurred as the tanker was attempting to merge onto Interstate 271 north, causing it to lose control and plummet over the bridge onto the northbound lanes of Route 8. The crash resulted in the closure of Route 8 in both directions, with hazmat teams called to the scene due to diesel fuel spillage. The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, fire departments, and law enforcement are also involved in the response, and an investigation is ongoing.
