Fatal Collapse at Lower Manhattan Parking Garage Leaves Multiple Injured and Building Unstable

One person died and five others were injured after the top of a four-story parking garage collapsed in Lower Manhattan. The building is considered unstable, and officials have evacuated the Pace University building next to it. The cause of the collapse is under investigation, and crews are trying to determine what businesses and city agencies use the garage and make sure all employees and staff are accounted for. The building had one open hazardous violation from 2003 for cracks in the concrete.
