Fatal Car Crash Causes Home Fire in Ankeny

A car crashed into a house in Ankeny, Iowa, early Saturday morning, causing a fire that made the house structurally unstable. The homeowners and two police officers were treated for smoke inhalation, but did not need to be taken to the hospital. The driver of the car was unable to exit the vehicle and passed away as a result of the fire.
