Gayle Manchin, wife of U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin, and her colleague were hospitalized in stable condition after a car crash in Birmingham, Alabama. The accident occurred as they were traveling to an event, and both are receiving excellent care at UAB Hospital. Gayle Manchin is the federal co-chair of the Appalachian Regional Commission and was in Birmingham for a grant workshop.
